| I've noticed recently that Salsas are becoming more popular now partly because they are low in cholesterol, fat, and calories and partly because they provide a great way to add depth and flavor to any dish especially chili enthusiasts. I, for one, am hooked. :) Trying desperately to stay away from preserved foods (catsup, mayo, etc), Salsas have become a life saver to me for adding savory flavors to chicken & fish instead of heavy cream sauces. :) |

I absolutely LOVE salsa. Lately, we have been making healthy sandwiches with salsa:
Hemp Bread
Veggie Cheese
Spicey Chicken Patty (vegetarian)
Salsa
They make for a great yet simple lunch. :D |

...made some BLAM salsa yesterday... as in Burn your Lips And Mouth!
1/2 a red onion
1 Jalapeno pepper
3 roma tomatoes
...all bended up, with some parsley for clolor and texture.
...it actually turned out a little too spicy for me , so, following my latest strange inspiration, I blended in 1/4 of a mellon. Its still spicy, but now also a little sweet as well. I think its yummy, if hot... and rather unorthodox.   |

As a 'difficult' lactose intolerant one, salsa is a great alternative :D !
I love it very simply served with good 'rustic' bread. |
