There are many cooking shows out there. Which ones are your favorites and why?

I love watching Barefoot Contessa w/Ina Garten and Cooking with Paula Dean. Great ideas with simple foods. I like BC because of the elegance and PD because of the down home cuisine. :D

I love Iron Chef as well but I've seen all of the reruns. I love how they take something as gross as Eel (I know it's a fish but it looks too much like a snake. :x ) or some other out of the ordinary item and make them in to beautiful dishes. :D Oh the octupus episode freaked me out for a split second. Can't remember which chef it was but one of them went after the octopus with a vengeance one night. Sliced his head and nothing but tentacles flapping everywhere. I was like DUDE!!.........Cool... 8)

And oh yeah, the Martha Stewart reruns still rock.

Iron Chef RULES :!: :!: :!:

Heck, as a vegetarian I wouldn't even touch most of the stuff they make, but what they do, how they do it, and how fast they do it are just plain cool! :D

I don't know if you guys get the same things we get, but it is cable TV I'm talking about so who knows.......

"Food Source" by Neil Perry (or anything by him!).........love his approach!

Jamie Oliver is great fun too, never mind about the food, he's energy is infectious!

There are like twenty different cooking shows on TV here daily, it is amazing! The Japanese are real foodies. I can't pick my favorite show from the bunch as I don't watch enough regularly, but I occasionally jot down the recipes...

Barefoot Contessa is my sister's favorite show.

I gotta admit, although I find Chris Kimball to be really geeky, I love the recipes on America's Test Kitchen. That'd be my choice.

And I find Alton Brown's show to be entertaining, although when I've tried the recipes they're not all that great.
