Do you like fruit? Which is your favourite?
I like 'em all, but I mostly prefer peaches, watermellons and grapes... :), oh and pineapples :)

Bananas, because they are FANTASIC energy(not just sugar!) and are packed with fiber and potassium. I couldn't live in a place that didn't have bananas, and I eat at least one a day, even when I travel!

In Japan, we have 4 distinct seasons and I eat peaches and grapes in the summer, pears and persimmons in the fall, and tangerines in the winter. (Spring fruit???) I use strawberries often in cakes and desserts, and make a mean banana nut bread! (walnuts I import in huge bags from California!)

Yup. Peach is my favorite. :) I also love the tart acidy fruits like lemon, lime & plums. I also love kiwi, nectarines, mango, papaya, pineapple. Apples and pears are okay but I don't care for them cooked. Something about the texture. I'd rather eat the crust of the apple pie rather than the filling. Berries are good too especially strawberries. Oh, let us not forget the infamous bi-fruit, the tomatoe. :D

Yeah, Peach, I know a lot of people here in Japan who don't like cooked apples, but none of them have tasted my apple pie(crust is damn good, too!)...I only forgive chefs for cooking fruit if it is prepared and seasoned skillfully as in tarts, flambes, etc. But for vitamins, fresh is the best way to go, always!!!

Bananas. I can always make a funky spicy banana bread if they get a little to ripe, have with ice-cream. Great for smoothies... :)

Fresh lychees........not that stuff out of cans!

Mangoes, blueberries, white peaches (yummmmmmm.....)

Strawberries dipped in sweetend condences milk.......ooooooh.......

I find that I need to eat fruits (30mins at least) before a meal, not after....... the theory is that the fruit acid reacts with your digesive juices.

Well, since I've been eating fruits this way, there has been no more problem  (used to wonder why I feel sick after a meal & fruits)!

Has anyone ever tried durian, dubbed "The king of fruits" in Asia? It has a rank smell(to some) reminiscent of fresh $hit and I kid you not. It resembles a small rugby ball covered with spikes and, should one be slung at you, it would draw blood in a most amusing pattern. Oh yes, the taste. I tried one at a floating market in Thailand(some pasty white tourists walked by and quipped "Y'all gunna EAT that?!") and it was very good- it had a creamy texture and reminded me of a fruity custard. The fruit is a delicacy, so it is not cheap, unlike everything else in southeast Asia. Some of the finer hotels in southeast Asia have signs reading "Do not bring durians onto the premises" as the smell is repulsive to some westerners.
I will definitely have it again! 8)

They're available here (the fresh ones), but a little expensive, so I haven't tried them yet... I take it you think I should?

Maybe they were angry?

A friend has been making plum cakes using plums from a neighbor's tree. Quite good.
