I know too many people who skip breakfast.

Personally, I love breakfast......there's nothing like starting a day (or ending a night after dancing  ) with food!

Do you eat breakfast? What's your favourite breakfast food?

I always eat breakfast. Couldn't start my day without it. Usually I'll have either a bowl of museli or cereal in summer or porridge in winter and a big cup of coffee.

Absolutely love soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers. A throwback to my childhood perhaps? I have this usually on a Saturday to welcome in the weekend.

I always have breakfast too... it doesn't matter what... it can be:
- eggs and cheese and tomatoes and cucumbers and and yogurt and salami and jelly and milk/tea/coffee... in any combo!
or
- steak or any sort of lunch/dinner food!
I know I'm a weirdo!
For instance this morning I had pork sour soup (I don't know the English name...) and pork steak with cabbage as side dish... :)

I must admit, I struggle with this meal. I'm just not hungry in the morning but on those rare occasions, there are always Pancakes or country biscuits and ham and my favorite sausage/hashrown casserole. Not the most healthy, but it's not all the time so it's okay...

Because of me, my SO is now eating breakfast every day :D !

It's usually fruit juice, cereal with natual youghurt, honey & soymilk, topped with fresh fruits (usually strawberries & kiwi).

I usually do eat breakfast but have been skipping it lately. Usually its always the same - one cup of almond milk, a few scoops of rice protein powder, fresh unhulled sesame seeds (lots of calcium and iron), sunflower seeds, or sometimes pumpkin too. I then add a dash of cinnamon and some vanilla if I have it...berries in season for added flavor.

Mix it all in my blender, then pour it over some whole grain cereal, or oatmeal. Good mix of protein, fat and low GI carbs, keeps me going for 3-4 hours usually. :)

When I was younger my breakfast followed what my MA teacher taught me - Green or Oolong tea, umeboshi rolled in licorice powder, and usually a small bit of fruit or grain cereal. Then some Chinese MA practice of course! :D

Actually I've been on a big cornbread kick lately. I make fresh cornbread with dinner, then use the left overs to cut up thin and sautee in olive oil. I then throw in some eggs and make an omelete...its great!

It reminds me of some of the dishes my Spanish relatives used to make...there was one breakfast dish called "mega" (pronounced Mee-ga, spelling might be wrong) which was usually cornmeal/pancake type mix fried and stirred/chopped so it became small and crunchy little nuggets (usually the same type of batter used for polenta). Then there would be salami, bacon, ham, saugsage etc cooked with it, with the meat in the center and the cooked mega around it. It was always served in the center of the table and everyone just ate it out of the pan!

So good...so fattening...I gotta give that a try one of these days. :D

Squirrel - Any similar dishes like this in Romania? I know you talked about polenta before...but I think its different than what my relatives made.

We eat polenta with a lot of stuff... including fried pork and fried fish... but in the morning my mother used to make polenta, then put hard boiled eggs and sourcream in it (sometimes even cheese) and add some butter... :) It tasted great!

Lately I hate my breakfasts... no ideas for something new and no time to do it anyway!
