| Has anyone ever made their own salad dressing? I was thinking this might be a fun thing to do. Do you have any favorite dressings? |

| :) I prefer my salad without dressing, but I guess it all depends on the salad... for instance, whenever I go to Pizza Hut (which is very rare... like once or twice a year) I have salad with Glenn sauce... ;) |

| I like balsamic vinegar & extra virgin olive oil. No vinegar in the house & I go without dressing. I occasionally make a special dressing if I am making a "fancy" Italian salad like panzanella. In Japan we have a really good creamy sesame dressing which I occasionally buy. It is versatile as it compliments most vegetables. |

Apart from the obvious oil/vinegar combination, there's a simple dressing I learnt while living in France.
During winter months, the only (affordable) leafy vegetable at the time was bitter witlof  . I would make a simple tomato & witlof salad everyday with creme-fraiche & seeded mustard with a little salt & pepper.
I lived on this with (nice but cheap) sausages for quite a few months...... |
