| I love cooking as much as I do travelling and often visit friends in far away lands. When I'm staying at their homes, I inevitably end up cooking for them. Most often ethnic dishes or Japanese food. One food that is easy to prepare and find ingredients for anywhere you may be is the Japanese dish "okonomiyaki". It's like a pancake(or a crepe) and is filled with cabbage, bean sprouts, onions and meat. The only people that weren't crazy about this were my Mexican friends. Didn't much go for the soy sauce taste.I usually bring along my own sauces and condiments to make sure everything's perfect! |

I've always made a point of cooking for my friends when I travel to visit them, especially if I actually stay with them.......
I used to take along my cake book while visiting, until I realised that a few things need to be adapted for the recipes to work (temperature conversion, self-raising flour rather than plain flour etc).......
So now I just go there, use the local books & ingredients, cook rather than bake 8) .......... |
